Tall Trees in Georgia is one of my favorite songs. I love the version by Eva Cassidy. It is both haunting and beautiful at the same time. This painting was inspired from a shag bark hickory tree. We had a big shag bark hickory tree near one of the barns growing up. I recently was on a hike in Vermont and encountered this beautiful tree. Life is one big circle, and there is always reminders in our present moments bringing us back to what we love the most.
