This painting is about movement and a flash of colors in skies and fields. It happens when in a vehicle and the sky is changing so fast. Often I am riding or driving in a car, I catch images that are ‘Held Only While Moving’, like taking a snapshot in motion. A photo is captured while in motion and held until I can get to a canvas and release it. In Lewis County NY, there are fields and fields of wheat, corn, rye and many fields of crops. Some fields light up the sky as they reflect in the light. Living in an area where a lot of Amish harvest takes time, and the pace and place of these fields is what I can see on my daily drives to town.
